With all the cuts in school programs and reductions in staffing due to the lack of funds, I would like to know if the candidates for Lake County Superintendent of Schools would be willing to cut their salary 20 percent ($24,481.50) and distribute the funds back into school programs? And if not, why not? The present salary for a superintendent is $122,407.53 per year, including benefits. Salary reform should start at the top, don”t you think? Ask the candidates at their next presentations if they would be willing to take a pay cut.
