LAKEPORT ? The Passion Play turns 30 this year, with rehearsals starting 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the grounds on Westlake Road off the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff.
The rehearsals will skip Easter and Mother”s Day with practices at 1:30 p.m. April 11, 18 and 25 and dress rehearsals May 2 and 8, said Father Philip Ryan.
The play will be at the same time and place May 15 and 16, the weekend after Mother”s Day. Ryan recommends attendees bring folding chairs or something to sit on at the free event, he said.
Play organizers appreciate donations, he said. The grounds should be accessible for those with wheelchairs, he said.
Ryan said he”s excited for the event that attracts people from across the state.
“Running 30 years consecutively, that”s a long time,” he said.
