KELSEYVILLE — A 25-year-old Kelseyville woman crashed into a tree about 1:17 a.m. Wednesday on Bell Hill Road in Kelseyville and because she and her 15-year-old passenger weren”t wearing their seatbelts, they were thrown into the windshield, California Highway Patrol reported.
CHP officers arrested Yesenia Lopez on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, CHP reported. A REACH helicopter transported Lopez to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for pelvis injuries.
The 15-year-old of Santa Rosa sustained, head, hands and hip injuries and was transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital and then to U.C. Davis, CHP reported.
Lopez was driving her 1990 Toyota Corolla west on Bell Hill Road east of Boggs Lane when she failed to negotiate a right turn in the road and lost control, CHP reported. Lopez drove across the road to the left and went off the road into a dirt and grass field and then came back to the right, back on the road and back off the road to the right, hitting a tree.
CHP is still investigating the crash. Lopez was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI because the injuries her passenger sustained, CHP reported.
