Having read the recent front page article on candidate Rivero, I feel compelled to write to inform the people of Lake County regarding this man”s campaign.
My own experience of Francisco Rivero is as follows: Two years ago I, too was stopped by Officer Rivero as I drove home late at night past the high school. This gentleman was not only an exemplary officer, he was a real human being who knew the truth when he heard it and could make a clear, down to earth, yet compassionate judgment call. As for my being female, he was completely respectful. I have since seen him show up at public events around Middletown and am always pleased to say hello. Now I would call that a successful encounter with the law.
I think Francisco Rivero would make an excellent sheriff. He is a fair man, a good judge of character and a man of much experience. As far as the allegations of Ms. Straub, I wonder why testimony has not been taken by the second officer who was with him during the arrest. I can only assume that Rivero”s claim that this allegation is false and a complete fabrication politically motivated, to be the truth.
I urge everyone to vote for a man who is not afraid to speak up for the truth.
