CLEARLAKE — Clearlake Police are searching for a small, silver, two door car with front end damage following a hit-and-run traffic collision Tuesday afternoon around 12:50 p.m. The incident occurred on Highway 53 at 18th Avenue.

According to Clearlake Police Officer Mike Ray, the driver of the silver vehicle, identified only as a man, allegedly ran a red light and collided with an orange Neon sedan that was turning southbound from 18th Avenue onto Highway 53.

Officer Ray said the driver of the Neon was transported to St. Helena Hospital Clearlake with unknown injuries.

The southbound lane of Highway 53 was temporarily closed with Lake County Sheriff deputies redirecting traffic through the northbound lane. Lake County Fire Protection District also responded, providing medical assistance and minor extrication efforts.
