LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Sheriff”s Department and the Lake County District Attorney”s Office is pleased to present a free seminar on Internet safety and Internet predators. The brief outreach will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the United Christian Parish located at 745 N. Brush Street in Lakeport. The program will be presented by Detective Mike Curran of the Lake County Sheriff”s Major Crimes Unit and Chief District Attorney Investigator Craig Woodworth with the District Attorney”s Office. Internet predators are a very real threat to children and they exist across the nation, as well as in our own backyard in Lake County. The program is intended to educate the public on the dangers of unsupervised Internet use by children and is open to all parents and other interested adults. Attendance by minors is discouraged due to the content of the material presented.

This program is presented free-of-charge on behalf of the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Task Force and is expected to last from one to two hours.
