BLUE LAKES — A Kelseyville Lumber truck driving west on Highway 20 east of Blue Lakes Road crossed over double yellow lines, hitting a gray truck headed east, which spun around 180 degrees and crashed head on with the red truck behind it about 3:22 p.m. Friday, California Highway Patrol said witnesses reported. The Kelseyville Lumber truck was overturned in the westbound lane, partially blocking traffic for about an hour. A helicopter airlifted the driver of the red truck to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after Northshore fire crews extricated him, Officer Jake Bushey of CHP said. The Kelseyville Lumber driver and the driver of the silver truck and three passengers got out of their vehicles themselves. CHP of Clear Lake and Ukiah, Northshore Fire Protection District, Jones Towing and Rich”s Towing responded to the crash. Officer Greg Buchholz cautions people to drive safely. “Slow down and you”re going to get there safely,” Buchholz said. “If you crash, you”re not going to.” CHP had no additional details by press time.
