LAKEPORT — A Christian music concert series debuts May 10 at the Soper-Reese Community Theatre. Proceeds support Compassion 2 Help (C2H), a Lake County-based charitable organization.
“We are trying to spread the word about a great nonprofit here in Lake County that was started to help out of work folks,” according to event publicist Dennis Fay.
Dove Award winner Natalie Grant headlines the May 10 concert, which takes place at 7 p.m. Grant has been recognized as a top-selling adult contemporary female solo artist for 2005, 2006 and 2008.
Appearing with Grant are Phil Stacey, an American Idol finalist; and Christian recording artist Britt Nicole.
The May 10 performance is to be the first in a Christian concert series. Proceeds support Compassion 2 Help, a nonprofit agency formed by Rich and Todd Williams, two Lake County residents.
According to Web publicity, C2H was created to help people who do not earn enough to cover living expenses, but whose income makes them ineligible to receive any other kind of aid. Proceeds raised through C2H will assist families with paying a month”s mortgage or rent, a utility bill or car payment. “While not the long-term solution to this failing economy, they help local families make it through a hard month and offer a little bit of hope!”
Other upcoming fundraisers include a wine tasting, dinner and auction, taking place May 22 at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
