”American Idol” themed talent show at Terrace
LAKEPORT — Terrace School”s eighth-grade class is hosting an “American Idol” themed talent show, 7 p.m. Friday in the Marge Alakszay Center (the MAC). Reserved seats for $7.50 will be available for pre-sale in the Terrace Middle School office starting after spring break.
According to promoter Jennifer Strong, this isn”t your typical talent show. This year, the students are participating in a spoof of American Idol, the ”70s version. The “Dancing Queens” and “King Tuts” of Terrace School will perform disco tunes while enduring the critiques of “Simon,” “Randy” and “Paula,” with “Ryan” there to keep the show moving at a fast and fun pace, so the audience will be “Stayin” Alive” instead of snoozing.
Strong warns viewers to expect the unexpected from the silent and live auctions: “There will be front-row seats for eighth-grade graduation to be auctioned off, and the fundraising game of Heads or Tails is sure to bring lots of laughs as well as an amazing prize to the winner. Imagine bidding on a day on the lake and wakeboard lessons from the talented Mr. Figg.”
Strong added, “This is sure to be a fun night not only for the participants, but the audience as well.”
General admission tickets for $5 apiece will also be available at the school office and Linda”s Hallmark starting on April 12 and will also be available at the door on the night of the performance. For more information, contact Jill Ruzicka Leighton at jill.ruzicka@att.net or call (818) 395-3050.
