LAKE COUNTY — On Thursday Lake County Sheriff/Coroner Rodney K. Mitchell officially confirmed that as of April 23, Russell Perdock is no longer employed by the Lake County Sheriff”s Office.
“His situation for departure is not public record,” Mitchell said, “but his employment status is, and he is no longer employed by the Lake County Sheriff”s Office.”
Russell Perdock was a captain with the Lake County Sheriff”s Office who was involved in a fatal boating collision on Clear Lake on April 29, 2006.
Former Capt. Perdock was off-duty when his speedboat collided with the sailboat belonging to Mark Weber. One of Weber”s passengers, Lynn Thornton, died as a result of the crash.
