I would like to take this opportunity to inform the public that May 17-21 has been proclaimed National Neuropathy Week throughout the United States by the National Institutes of Health. Pheripheral Neuropathy is one of the most common diseases in the United States, impacting upwards of 20 million Americans. It is a disorder resulting from injury to the peripheral nerves. I myself have been affected with this disease for the past eight years. As time passes it progressively gets worse. There is no known cure at this time but hopefully someday research will discover one. The Clearlake chapter of the support group is now meeting every second Thursday at 10 a.m. at Orchard Park Assisted Living on Burns Valley Road. I can be reached at 481-0733 for anyone desiring more information.
