CLEARLAKE — A travel trailer was destroyed by fire early Thursday morning at Galaxy Resort on Old Highway 53 in Clearlake. According to Lake County Fire Protection District Battalion Chief George Murch, damage was limited to the travel trailer and a fence.
Murch said that two engines, one out of Station 70 in Clearlake and one out of Station 65 in Lower Lake responded at approximately 4:48 a.m. Units remained on scene until approximately 7:45 a.m. conducting clean up procedures.
Murch said the travel trailer was fully involved upon arrival and that the fire was threatening a doublewide modular next to it. “The crews contained the fire to the travel trailer and prevented it from getting into the nearby dwellings,” Murch said. “It did, however, damage the fence surrounding the perimeter.”
Murch said that after knocking down the fire and investigation initiated. “It appears to be suspicious in nature and the investigation is ongoing,” he said.
