LAKE COUNTY — On Tuesday afternoon CalTrans employees making repairs to a road sign just north of Lower Lake spotted what appeared to be a pipe bomb in the ground near the post that held the sign. California Highway Patrol, Lake County Fire Protection District and Lake County Sheriff”s Office were called to the scene. Highway 29 between Lower Lake and Siegler Canyon Road was closed for approximately three hours while the Napa Bomb Squad determined the device was not an explosive, but a part of a worldwide treasure hunting game.
