John Muir would be mortified by the action of the area Sierra Club for attacking a small impoverished town. The City of Clearlake is just trying to generate some income by developing an abandoned former garbage dump and airport. There are no trees or poppies to protect, and the porno people have no interest in the property.
Why does Victoria Brandon want to hurt the City of Clearlake by filing a lawsuit to curtail the development? She never said anything when developers destroyed orchards and wildlands for stores and vineyards in other parts of the county. I don”t think she represents the Sierra Club spirit or adheres to the club”s credo as postulated in every issue of their magazine.
As a longtime admirer of the club”s good works, I think she should be told to drop the lawsuit she recently filed to compel an expensive EIR study.
