LAKE COUNTY — One woman died as a result of a weekend collision.
On Saturday at approximately 8:30 a.m., Angelo Accurso, 85, from Hidden Valley Lake, was driving his 2001 Toyota Corolla westbound on Hartmann Road.
Accurso was stopped at the stop sign at Highway 29 waiting to turn left when Vidal Montanez, 51, from Clearlake who was driving his 1998 Ford Windstar northbound on Highway 29 approached Hartmann Road at approximately 55 miles per hour.
Accurso pulled out into the intersection directly in front of the Montanez”s Windstar.
The front of the Windstar struck the left side of the Toyota Corolla.
Helen R. Valentine, 85, from Rodeo was a passenger in Accurso”s Toyota.
Valentine was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital by CALSTAR helicopter where she later died.
Accuros was transported by REACH to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for a broken right hip and other injuries.
Montanez was not injured.
The collision is still under investigation by Officer E. Cortez of the California Highway Patrol.
