In these critical times of disappearing, or diminishing, social service programs (for those most in need) the staff at Community Care HIV/AIDS Program is looking for that wonderful Lake County energy and heart.
California”s budget is broken and it is really up to all of us to help our local community.
HIV diagnosis is on the rise. Our own client census has more than doubled in two years. HIV infection is non-discriminatory. A person with AIDS could be your classmate, family, friend, church member, and/or neighbor.
For the past two years, Lake County service agencies and other diverse, community-minded citizens, have come together to create a feel-good fundraiser called AIDSWALK Lake County. From students to elders, just ask anyone who has participated in this event and you will be greeted with a smile. It is a good time.
The funds raised from AIDSWALK have not only benefitted clients but has, also, served the larger community ? bringing potentially life-saving information to young people, service organizations, faith communities and other citizens. In this economic climate, we need your help more than ever before. Please join us as we endeavor to promote health and wellness in Lake County.
AIDSWALK Lake County 2010 will take place in Clearlake”s Austin Park, Saturday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are many ways to participate. Call us at 995-1606. Marti, Michelle, Ken, Kathy and Sarah are here to answer any inquiry. We welcome you.
If you would like to participate in the planning of this event, you are cordially invited to join us at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, at 14642-B Lakeshore in Clearlake. We welcome your ideas, energy and heart. All are welcome and celebrated.
