* Open mic from 4 to 6 p.m., every first Saturday of the month at Cafe Victoria, 301 Main St. in Lakeport. Acoustic musicians, singers, poets, comics and all other talented people are invited to come have fun. Second Sunday:

* Second Sunday Cinema meets on the second Sunday each month at the Clearlake United Methodist Church, 14521 Pearl Ave., to view interesting, thought-provoking films. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., screening at 6 p.m. There is no charge to attend. Information: 279-2957.

Second Wednesday:

* Lake County Writers Group meets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., “Arrive when you can; leave when you must,” on the second Wednesday of each month at the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum. Third Sunday:

* The board of directors for KPFZ 88.1 FM meets from 4 to 6 p.m. on the third Sunday of every month at the studio, 149 N. Main St. in Lakeport. The public is welcome. Information: www.kpfz.org.

Fourth Wednesday:

* Lake County Sing-a-Long Society meets from 6 to 9 p.m. each fourth Wednesday at the Mendo-Lake Credit Union Community Room. Songbooks available; bring an acoustic instrument if you like. All ages welcome. No food or drink allowed in the meeting room. No charge for this event.

Fourth Friday:

* D”s Coffee & Tea Shop, located at 21187 Calistoga St. in Middletown, hosts open mic night, 7 to 10 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month. This is a free event. Musicians, singers, storytellers, comedians, etc. are all welcome. Early sign-up is encouraged. For more information or to sign up to perform, please call 987-3647.

Last Saturday:

* Open mic at 9 p.m. on the last Saturday of the month in Harbin Restaurant at Harbin Hot Springs outside Middletown. Although the event is free, Harbin gate entrance and membership fees apply. Information: www.harbin.org.
