PETALUMA — Cute canines need not apply. This is no beauty contest. The Sonoma-Marin Fair on June 25 presents the 22nd annual, internationally-known World”s Ugliest Dog? Contest with the “Ugly is the New Beautiful” fashion show. Meet some really ugly, but much loved dogs. Actor/comedian, winner of the season five “Last Comic Standing” on NBC, Jon Reep will emcee the show.
Reep has appeared on “Premium Blend” on Comedy Central and CMT”s “Comedy Club.”
Karen “Doc” Halligan, DVM will judge. She is an author and television veterinarian committed to animal welfare and pet-owner education. She”s appeared on Animal Rescue 9-1-1, Dog Tales, Groomer Has It, Dogs 101, and Cats 101 and she is developing her own syndicated show. She is also author of Doc Halligan”s What Every Pet Owner Should Know: Prescriptions for Happy, Healthy Cats and Dogs.
Songwriter/singer, Matt Scannell is the celebrity judge. Scannell is the songwriter and lead singer/guitarist of Vertical Horizon. He has written many hit singles, including “Everything You Want,” which was No. 1 on Billboard”s Hot 100 and the most played song of the year 2000.

The cost of admission is $15 for 13 and older, $10 for 4 to 12 years old, $8 for seniors, younger than 4 are free. Dogs are not allowed at the fair with the exception of the World”s Ugliest Dog ? contestant dogs, dogs in programming, and assistance dogs.
