TEHAMA COUNTY –A 72-year-old Clearlake man who was killed in a vehicle crash in Tehama County June 8 has been identified by Red Bluff Coroner”s Office as Herbert Marks. According to California Highway Patrol, Marks was traveling in the wrong direction on Interstate 5 in the Red Bluff area when he slammed his vehicle into a bridge.
According to the CHP, Marks was driving south at a speed of approximately 70 mph in the northbound lane when the lane ended at Dibble Creek Bridge. Witnesses told CHP Marks never hit his brakes.
The 1996 Ford Ranger Marks was driving spun clockwise and came to rest facing north in the fast and slow lanes, CHP said.
