CLEARLAKE — Clearlake Police are actively searching for a black male adult allegedly involved in an attempted armed robbery Monday. The man is described as approximately 20-years-old, about 5 foot 10 inches tall weighing around 150 pounds.
According to Clearlake Police Lt. Craig Clausen the man entered the PG&E building on Olympic Drive at about 5:00 p.m. wearing a black face mask and black and gray-colored hooded sweatshirt. He allegedly brandished a silver handgun of some sort and demanded money from the customer service representative. Lt. Clausen said the man demanded money; however, none was given to him.
Officers spent approximately 45 minutes searching the area for the suspect following the incident. According to witness statements, the suspect may be associated with an older, red-colored Ford Taurus.
Lt. Clausen said evidence was collected at the scene and officers continue to pursuing investigative leads. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Clearlake Police Department at 994-8251.
