You, the American taxpayer, foot the bill for all of government spending. When Congress passes new bills and legislation that increase our taxes, you, the American taxpayer yell at your television, whine to your friends at the coffee shop in the morning and complain that there is nothing that can be done to fix government. Oddly enough, when citizen candidates come forth, request a moment of your time and offer to listen to your complaints and do the work that needs to be done in Sacramento and Washington on your behalf, you, the American taxpayer, put your head down, look the other way and just want to finish your breakfast. Shame on you! Your freedom and right to criticize the government was bought and paid for with the lives of our forefathers. The least you can do is take a moment to put down your fork and take the time to open your ears and mind, listen to what the new candidates want to do for you, check them out on the Internet, then you can cast your informed vote at the polls.
Karen Brooks (www.karenbrooks2010.com) is a citizen candidate who wants to make a difference for each of us in Sacramento. She comes from a small town in Humboldt County, is a small business owner, rides horses, questions government, asks, learns, speaks her mind and has an incredible ferocity of commitment to this country. She wants to represent you in Sacramento in the State Assembly and make a difference. She wants to hear your story and comes here to Lake County to listen. Her opponent, Wes Chesboro, is a career politician having been in office, in various capacities, for almost 40 years. He does not come to Lake County to hear you. If you don”t like what is going on in Sacramento, you can thank him and then vote for Karen Brooks for State Assembly.
