NAPA — The Lake County Channel Cats swim team was among 33 teams competing in the Napa Valley Father”s Day Frenzy on June 20 in the 50-meter long course pool at Napa Valley College. More than 400 swimmers participated.

Following on her recent success in Ukiah, Lauren Rudnick, 10, continues to make big gains in nearly all events entered in the 9-10 girls” division. She scored two new PC-A times in 100 and 200 freestyle events, placing 10th and 17th overall in those events. Rudnick also won the 50 breaststroke. She added thirds in the 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle.

Matteo Merodio, 16, also continues to build on an outstanding record, trimming time in the 100 backstroke and 200 breaststroke, finishing sixth and seventh in those events, respectively, in the 15-16 boys” division. Merodio also placed seventh in the 50 freestyle.

Charlie Adams, 9, improved his time in three events, taking second in the 100 backstroke, third in the 50 backstroke and eighth in the 100 freestyle in 9-10 boys” division.

Robin Adams, 6, swimming in her first long-course meet, placed sixth in the 50 backstroke and eighth in the 50 freestyle in the 8-and-under girls” division.
