LAKE COUNTY — A 19-year-old lost control of a 1972 Jeep Commando and it overturned, ejecting three passengers and went down an embankment about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday on Soda Bay Road, California Highway Patrol stated.
The driver, Kenneth Fontaine of Cloverdale, had no reported injuries but all of his three passengers were transported to hospitals, CHP Officer Dallas Richey said.
Fontaine was driving west on Soda Bay Road west of Crystal Drive at an undetermined speed when he lost control and overturned, Richey said. None of the three passengers were wearing seatbelts. All the passengers were on the road when emergency personnel arrived.
Passenger Melissa Glover, 21, of Petaluma was transported by air ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for major injuries, Richey said.
Kelseyville fire transported Lea Pfeffer, 20, of Petaluma to Sutter Lakeside Hospital for moderate injuries.
A 17-year-old male was also transported by Kelseyville fire to Sutter Lakeside Hospital for moderate injuries.
CHP and the Kelseyville Fire Protection District responded to the crash.
