I couldn”t believe my eyes when I read in the newspaper that Whirlpool Corporation is closing its plant in Evansville, Ind., eliminating 1,100 jobs. That is a major step backward for a company that claims to have strong values and to do the right thing. Shame on them for taking manufacturing jobs away to a plant in Mexico. This is just plain corporate greed with no regard for American workers. So, now they can pay Mexican workers $4 an hour and not have to worry about polluting Mexican rivers and soil with your factory waste.

This is outrageous! I”m writing to tell them that I will never ever purchase Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Maytag, Amana or any of their products. I will also ask my family and friends not to do any business with the company nor purchase their products. NAFTA was a terrible mistake which has devastated American jobs. Whirlpool has done a terrible thing to Americans in these tough economic times. They are not “trusted and respected” as it says on their Web site. They have done a very wrong thing. It is clearly anti-American. Their actions are despicable!
