I am writing this letter to urge citizens to stand up for their rights regarding California”s smog laws. CARB; California Air Resources Board is a bureaucracy of individuals who never cease in coming up with new ways to keep themselves employed and give themselves raises.
Making it mandatory to smog your vehicle in Lake County every other year serves no purpose accept to line the pockets of bureaucrats in Sacramento. Having a well- tuned older vehicle which may happen to be properly modified is better for the environment than a vehicle which is seldom tuned and has smog equipment.
Many repair shops have to turn away business and even close. This is killing the economy. I urge you to write Governor Schwarzenegger. There also appears to be a push to get rid of all the good-running older cars which are paid for and slowly replace them with new ones people have to finance through a bank. President Obama”s “Cash for Clunkers” program was a joke.
I urge citizens to stand up for their rights before they are further eroded away.
