This is in response to “We foot the bill” from June 23 by Jaxan Christensen. Yes, we agreed to foot the bill for government spending and this is not, nor will it ever be, an easy fix and yes we may yell at our TV sets and discuss with our friends, but again this is America and it is our right as American citizens. Our ears are open to what new candidates have to say, but there is a time and a place not to be bombarded by politics.
That”s what is wrong with our country as we speak. There aren”t any ethics; no one says thank you, you”re welcome or excuse me.
Karen Brooks came to our table and did not say excuse me or ask for our time and was very long-winded. We gave her 20-plus minutes of our time and by then we had had enough. Jaxan, you”re missing the point, if you had been there at the coffee shop you would have felt the same way we did.
We had ordered a meal that we were going to enjoy, all the while someone is standing at our table preaching that California has a long way to go to be fixed. We asked State Assembly candidate Karen Brooks questions and she answered with a question. Furthermore, not everyone has the Internet. Yes, it”s true, some of us choose to watch TV or read our newspaper. It”s part of our local ambiance.
