NICE — A fire that leveled storage shed located at 3766 Lakeshore Blvd. in Nice on Saturday at approximately 3:45 p.m. is being considered suspicious and is under investigation, according to Fire Chief Jim Robbins of the Northshore Fire Protection District.
Three witnesses said they saw a teenage boy running from the scene.
Neighbors kept the flames down with hoses until the firefighters arrived.
Neighbors said the fire was moving quickly toward a two-story home directly behind the property, but it was contained before reaching the home.
PG&E lines were burned. Fire crews had to work around lines until PG&E arrived to disconnect the lines.
There was no electricity in the building that was being used as a storage unit by out-of-town owners.
Three Northshore engines responded and a battalion chief. The fire was extinguished in 15 minutes, Robbins said. The building was a total loss.
