LAKE COUNTY — Two people were flown from Oasis Motosports on East Highway 20 Sunday afternoon following a collision on the track, Northshore Fire Protection District said. The collision occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m.
NFPD said that major injuries were sustained by a bystander as well as by a motorcyclist competing in the American Motorcycle Association event that was being held on Sunday. CalStar 4 and REACH 6 provided air ambulance transport from the scene for treatment at out-of-county medical facilities.
Two medic units, one of which was on standby at scene during the competition; two engines, two battalion chiefs and two CalFire engines responded.
