Well, Bobby, it looks like you outed yourself as the guy who couldn”t listen to new political views because you had your fork in your mouth! I do, however, agree with you there is a time and place for everything. And with our legislators having failed, once again, to produce a state budget by fiscal year-end, the time and place to make a change in Sacramento is now.

Wes Chesboro has been our representative as both State Senator (1998-2006) and currently is our State Assemblyman (2008 to present). He has been at the helm of this sinking ship from the very start. He is part of the problem and apparently isn”t very interested in a solution. During this election he hasn”t come to Lake County and doesn”t feel he has to. In his tenure he has amassed a million dollar-plus re-election war chest funded by various lobbyists. He is the quintessential career politician.

Karen Brooks, on the other hand, would like to make a difference for us all in Sacramento, provide a balanced budget, support small industry and local business through free markets not higher taxes. She does not have a million dollars to spend on slick radio and television ads, instead she gives her time and attention to her potential constituents, coming to talk with them at places like Judy”s Junction in Upper Lake.

Just one issue facing California is a failing economy. We are last in manufacturing in the nation; small businesses are crumbling under state regulations and taxes. Karen is a small business owner. She knows what financing inventory and making payroll is all about. Wes Chesboro, however, does not. He voted in favor of California Chamber of Commerce issues only 23 percent of the time, California Federation of Business 17 percent and California Manufacturers and Technology zero percent of the time. Not a big fan of manufacturing and small business …

So, bottom line is, if you like it the way it is in Sacramento just send the same guys back there. If not, vote for Karen Brooks for State Assembly, www.karenbrooks2010.com.
