I agree with Al Duncan regarding the cost of switching to a low carbon economy. It will be very expensive, and will tend to slow the economy. Al Duncan may or may not be correct that the efforts to slow global warming will be ineffective.
However, I strongly disagree with his take that CO2 is not a factor in climate change.
Of course CO2 is essential to life. It is the levels of concentration that are the issue. Fact: the more CO2 in the atmosphere the warmer the global climate. The logic is quite simple: Carbon that has been locked in hydrocarbons in petroleum, is released into the atmosphere when burned by man. This in turn raises the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere. This in turn raises global temperatures. I repeat: This is not a theory, it is an established scientific fact.
Al Duncan”s implication that CO2 has no effect on climate is absolutely false. As far as his alleged conspiracy; he is welcome to his theory.
