UKIAH — The NorCal Hardtops return Saturday night to the Ukiah Speedway where they will be joined by the NSRA street stocks, bombers, Legends Cars and bandoleros.

It”s the third and final appearance this season for the NorCal Hardtops at Ukiah”s quarter-mile paved oval. The motor home race has been replaced with a motor home derby and has been rescheduled for the first weekend in August during the Mendocino County Fair.

The NorCal Hardtop Association is comprised of a group of nostalgic race car buffs who have taken their antique race cars out of their garages, replaced worn and rusty parts, rebuilt engines and literally brought these hardtops back to life. Most of these old-timers race the cars themselves and trek around the track at speeds sometimes faster than what these cars went back in their prime during the 1930s, 40s and 50s.

Gates at the Ukiah Speedway open at 4 p.m. and racing begins at 6:30 p.m. Call the speedway office at 274-1354 for more information or visit the Web site at www.UkiahSpeedway.com.
