LAKE COUNTY — It was a battle of the two remaining undefeated teams on Friday night at County Park. A double header, because of early season rain out, left Lake County Palms still undefeated as Press Democrat dropped both games.
Game one saw Lake County Palms cruise to an easy 17-2 win with Lori Wilson, Carol Dellinger, Julie Kelley and Chyral Bryant collecting three hits apiece. Excellent defense by Chelsea Moses, Jessica Sweaney and Michelle Snider allowed Press to collect only 10 hits in the game three off the bat of pitcher Marci Psalmonds.
In game two Press came out swinging and took Lake County Palms into extra innings before winning pitcher, Lori Wilson was able to triple home two runs in the bottom of the eighth for a 15-14 win. Tammi Mendonca and Bryant each collected three hits in game two while Wilson was 5 for 5. Opposing pitcher Psalmonds was also 5 for 5 in the second game. Lake County Palms is coached by Gary Cambra.
