CLEARLAKE — Wonderful memories were made at Orchard Park Assisted Living and Memory Care Community when staff and residents joined in the celebration of Bill and Goldie Bero”s 74th anniversary. The couple saw their dream to dance again come true.

“Thank you for making my dream come true; it was so beautiful,” Goldie Bero told staff following the celebration. “Never have I had such a nice party, I felt like Alice in Wonderland. I don”t want to wake up from this beautiful dream. My wish has been granted: one last dance with my husband.”

Kristy Weiss, marketing director, said that when the staff at Orchard Park heard that Bill and Goldie Bero were celebrating their 74th anniversary and had a dream to dance again, they immediately directed their attention to making sure the couple”s dream came true.

Weiss said that staff and host of volunteers surprised the couple on their special day with a ballroom dance, complete with silver and blue trimmings by Lake Event Design and the musical stylings of pianist Thomas Ganoung. A tiered wedding cake graced the head table with champagne flutes and a plaque that read: “Dance like no one is watching.”

“There wasn”t a dry eye in the house when they got Bill out of that wheelchair to dance with Goldie,” Kimberly Kent, executive director said. “She just buried her head in his chest and ?. Well, it was magical.”

Goldie”s reaction suggested that she could hardly believe what she and her husband were given the chance to relive. “Somebody pinch me,” she said as she took the microphone to thank everyone. “I feel like I”ve stepped into a fantasy. It really is a dream come true and a day Bill and I will never, ever forget.”

Weiss said that the ?Ageless Dream” program is a hallmark of Orchard Park, proving you are never too old to live your dreams.
