As an American, I have a right to know where my tax money goes. Readers may find these examples of spending as interesting as I have.
It has been uncovered through a congressional Republican oversight action that the United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development, is spending more than $23 million in Kenya. The funds are being used for activities related to ratification of the proposed Kenyan constitution. There are many issues involved within the proposed constitution. However, I find it extremely disturbing that in Vice President Biden”s recent visit to Kenya, he promised two things: money would roll into the country if the constitution is approved and also if approved President Obama would visit Kenya. I must be brief, but I hope this is enough to encourage readers to do some research on their own. Just ask the question ? could $23 million be better used in securing our borders?
President Obama jets around attempting to sell his programs on our tax dollar, yet he cannot find the time or money to visit the Arizona border. But a trip is promised to Kenya should they pass their proposed constitution.
A second item is will you and I receive a thank you from Chelsea Clinton for providing the Secret Service (SS) contingent for her wedding on July 31? The wedding is estimated to cost around $2 million. A past president and spouse receive SS protection for 10 years after leaving office. As Hillary and Bill will receive SS protection through Jan. 20, 2011, we the taxpayers will pay for the SS protection for the wedding. As Secretary of State, Hillary has a SS detail wherever she travels. I don”t know if after Jan. 20, 2011 the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) will protect Hillary, as the DSS falls under the Department of State or if the SS will continue to do so.
Who and what are more important to the security of the United States; Kenya, the Clintons or our borders? I continue to ask, what is wrong in Washington?
