LAKE COUNTY — Northshore fire crews transported two people by ambulance to the hospital Sunday afternoon after another driver veered into their lane on Highway 20, causing a collision, California Highway Patrol stated.
Mary Smothers of Willits and her passenger were taken to St. Helena Hospital Clearlake for minor injuries and complaints of pain, Officer Joe Wind of CHP said.
Wind did not have the passenger”s information available.
Robert Myers Jr. of Lakeport was driving a 1990 Chevy Prism east at 3:40 p.m. Sunday west of Island Drive on Highway 20 when he allowed the Prism to drift across the double yellow lines around a curve and into the path of Smothers” 2007 Toyota Tacoma, Wind said.
The crash blocked traffic on Highway 20 as it took a while to have the vehicles moved, Wind said.
