I care about our county, so I am offering an idea that maybe the Board of Supervisors would agree with. My idea is to have a regional distribution warehouse in the county, like Safeway, Walmart or Kmart, so that Lake County will have a future besides poverty.
In a radius of 100 miles we have the Bay Area, Santa Rosa and Sacramento. A little farther, we have Red Bluff and San Francisco.
A warehouse would give many county residents a chance to work as semi-truck drivers, forklift operators and shipping and receiving clerks. It would create good-paying jobs with benefits for our families. Yuba College could offer classes for certification of some of the positions.
