Al Duncan”s misnamed July 23 “Gulf oil spill – part VI” column reminds me of a radio program Ronn Owens (KGO) occasionally hosts in which listeners give their ideas about what is status, class and tacky. An example using cars might be status: a Rolls Royce, class: a Jaguar, and tacky: an Element.

In Duncan”s column we hear for the first time that a status job bestows kingship qualities to a job holder even if held for just 30 days. The implication is that Obama should be impeached because he violated his oath of office by presiding over a United Nations meeting. Wow! The end of democracy is near.

We then hear about the pitiable U.N.”s Earth Charter written by the trinity of M. Strong, M. Gorbachev, and S. Rockefeller who had the gall to place their World Charter (which has no mention of “God”) in an Ark of the Covenant type box. This according to Al Duncan is surely designed to replace the Ten Commandments.

However, reading the Earth Charter we find the following “radical” ideas: “Humanity is part of a vast evolving universe;” “We need a shared vision of basic values ?;” “Ensure universal access to health care ?;” and “Secure the human rights of women and girls and end all violence against them.”

We then hear about Agenda 21 claptrap with its similarity to the Trilateral Commission designed to takeover the world.

The Vatican vociferously opposes the charter (did I mention it lacks the word “God”) perhaps because it might bestow equal rights to females. After all the Vatican says that having a woman priest is an abomination, delicta graviora, the same term they use to describe the homosexual and child abuse acts of priests.

Status: The U.N.”s goal for a better kinder Earth

Class: The Earth Charter

Tacky: Al Duncan”s column
