UPDATED:

Last week we laid witness to a time-honored tradition in the north counties. Back in June I called on the representative of the 1st Assembly District to actually represent the people on the implementation of the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA). In fact, citizens here have been calling for representation long before I joined this race.

Instead of action, we got a press release and a comment about how the process should address our concerns. Recently, an algae bloom in Clear Lake was observed by our officials as if it were a recent phenomenon. This issue has been around for generations and only now is it a concern. This is why our state is in such dismal condition.

Sending a press release or issuing a statement is not action. California is teetering on bankruptcy because of the hyper-partisanship in Sacramento and no leadership. We deserve solutions to the problems staring us in our face! This is what we have elected them to do. Only when an election approaches do we get any kind of response from our elected leaders. Is this leadership or pandering for votes? The election this November is about keeping the status quo or fixing problems. It”s time for new leadership and new directions.
