HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE — Former Lake County Sheriff Deputy Bryan Troy Smith, 33, of Hidden Valley Lake was arrested Thursday for his second driving under the influence offense in the past two months. According to Sheriff Rod Mitchell, Smith is no longer an employee of the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO).
According to California Highway Patrol, Smith was driving his vehicle in excess of the maximum speed limit when he was stopped by a CHP officer on Highway 29 at Hidden Valley Road. Upon completion of the officer”s investigation, Smith was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and/or drug(s).
Smith was previously arrested on June 15 after crashing his LCSO patrol vehicle into a parked car in Hidden Valley Lake.
He was charged with driving under the influence of prescription drugs.
