LAKE COUNTY — At 9:35 a.m. today, the Lake County Board of Supervisors will consider a proposed resolution opting out of the Public Employee”s Medical and Hospital Care Act, CalPers Health Plan coverage for county employees and transfer to a new plan.

The board will discuss the options including changing to CSAC EIA Health Plan for county employees on Jan. 1, as recommended by the county”s Group Insurance Committee, and changing employee dental, group life and voluntary life benefit providers.

The meeting will take place in Board of Supervisors Chambers in the County Courthouse at 255 N. Forbes St. in Lakeport.

Scheduled for 10 a.m., the board will consider buying the Lucerne Hotel Castle property.

Supervisors will consider a request from the Sheriff”s Office to submit a Homeland Security grant application of $227,000 to prevent, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies.

At 1:30 p.m., the board will have a public hearing on an appeal by the El Dorado Motel to a violation for converting the motel on Lakeshore Boulevard in Lakeport to a combination permanent living establishment along with transient occupancy facilities.

The board will present a proclamation at 9:30 a.m. designating Sunday through Saturday as National Community Health Center Week in Lake County.

At 9:15 a.m., the board will have a public hearing on the intention to name an existing unnamed road in Lake County as Baylis Cove Road located off Point Lakeview Road in the Lower Lake area.
