LAKEPORT — Wineries, restaurants and organizers are gearing up for the 14th annual Taste of Lakeport on Friday.
The event, featuring wine and beer pourings, hors d”ouevres from county restaurants and live music, will run from 5 to 10 p.m. to Friday in downtown Lakeport on Main Street.
More than 20 Lake County wineries and restaurants will participate. The LC Diamonds, Austin & Owens and The Blind Monkeys will play during the event.
Barbara Breunig, president of the Lakeport Main Street Association hosting the event, said people should come and enjoy the ambiance of downtown Lakeport.
“I like Taste of Lakeport because I enjoy seeing all the people enjoying hors d”oevres and wine and watching people dancing,” she said. “It”s awesome to see how much fun they”re having.”

An old wine barrel turned into an ice chest will be raffled off at the event, Breunig said.
Tickets for the event cost $25 in advance and may be bought at Shari”s Secret Garden, Hillside Honda, The Kitchen Gallery and the Lake County Chamber of Commerce in Lakeport. People can also buy tickets the day of the event for $30. A ticket includes a wine glass and a map showing participating wineries and restaurants. The map may be stamped at each location and guests who visit each stop throughout the course of the evening qualify to enter a drawing for prizes.
The Taste of Lakeport benefits the revitalization of downtown Lakeport. The association maintains flower-filled baskets that hang from the lampposts along Main Street. The group also hangs seasonal and holiday banners from the proceeds of the fundraising event.
