UKIAH — The Northern California Pro-4 Modifieds return to the Ukiah Speedway Saturday night along with the NSRA modifieds, bombers, Legends Cars and bandoleros
The Pro-4 modifieds are powered by four-cylinder engines and have a smaller wheel base than full-size modifieds. Although they are a smaller-version race car, their lap times are only about two-hundredths of a second slower the eight-cylinder cars.
Prior to the auto racing action, many of the race cars will be on display in the parking lot of the Yokayo Bowl on North State Street in Ukiah. The car show and swap meet takes place from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Ukiah Speedway officials will perform the technical inspection of these cars during the car show.
Part of the regular racing program Saturday night is a special motor home jump. A driver will speed around the oval and jump through a motor home and hope to come out the other side. This is the final motor home jump of the season.
Gates open at the Ukiah Speedway at 4 p.m. and racing begins at 6:30 p.m. Call the speedway office at 274-1354 for more information or visit the Web site at www.UkiahSpeedway.com.
