LAKE COUNTY — A woman charged with embezzlement of an area business in December 2007 recently pleaded no contest to eight misdemeanor counts of grand theft. Michelle Davis” sentencing agreements include probation, jail time, community service hours and restitution.

The crimes Davis allegedly committed were against her former employer Shannon Ridge Winery, where she was a bookkeeper. The charges against Davis carried a special allegation in that the amount was more than $150,000.

The crimes allegedly took place between March 14, 2006 and Dec. 14, 2007.

Davis pleaded no contest to eight misdemeanor counts of grand theft on July 21. She was sentenced to three years summary probation, 45 days in jail and 360 hours of community service. Additionally, Davis is to pay Shannon Ridge Winery $50,000 restitution. She is due back in court on Dec. 13 for review of her financial status to evaluate her restitution capabilities.
