This letter is written in response to Al Duncan”s column, Gulf oil spill, part six that appeared in the July 23 edition of the Record-Bee.
Duncan states that section 9 of the Constitution says that no title of nobility shall be granted by the United States and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them shall, without the consent of Congress accept of any present involvement, office or title, of any king, prince or foreign state.
Duncan goes on to state that Obama presided as president of a foreign state for 30 days, therefor violating the Constitution.
What he failed to realize and see, was the part that says, “Without the consent of Congress.”
So, it is not so clear that Obama violated the Constitution.
