UPDATED:

The interpretation of the 14th Amendment should be changed so that children of illegal immigrants do not have American citizenship simply because they were born on American soil.

There is a legal principle of law that notes a legal act cannot flow from an illegal cause.

For example, if you buy my house with counterfeit money, you cannot then sell my house to someone else and maintain the second sale is legal and valid.

The same thing applies to illegal immigrants.

If they are here in defiance of our laws, how can a legal act flow from this cause, i.e., legal citizenship for their children?

Moreover, most of our NATO allies do not allow children of illegal immigrants in their countries to have citizenship.

Denying citizenship to the children isn”t the result of prejudice; neither is it ethnically or racially motivated: it”s just good law.
