Challenge Day is coming to Clear Lake High School on Sept. 20 and 21 and we welcome your support.
This is your last chance to sign up as an adult event volunteer. No training is necessary.
The program starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. and lunch is provided. You will need to commit to the entire day if you sign up and believe me, it is worth every minute of your time.
Challenge Day is a program that provides youth and their communities an experiential workshop designed to demonstrate the possibility of love and connection through the celebration of diversity, truth and full expression with the goal of building a community of peace, hope and love.
Challenge Day has been providing this support for more than 21 years and has been on Oprah and MTV.
This program teaches youth and adults how to connect with each other, gain awareness on how they impact others by their actions and/or lack of, and helps to enhance strong leadership in our youth. The goal is to help create a school where every child feels safe, loved and celebrated. Challenge Day encourages students, staff, parents and community volunteers to be the change they wish to see in the world.
This program helps to create a supportive learning environment that empowers every student to thrive and grow at all levels.
Challenge Day has been shown to increase school attendance and academics as well as decrease separation, isolation, loneliness, depression and all forms of violence from our children”s school.
I could go on and on about how wonderful and transforming this program is.
I encourage you to volunteer as an adult participant this September.
We will have a community ?Be the Change” team meeting on Tuesday at Round Table Pizza in Lakeport at 6 p.m. and we would love to have you attend.
I hope you will join our team in building a community of peace, hope and love while empowering our youth to reach their full potential.
