FORT BRAGG ? Coach Schad Schweitzer felt that his team was “finding its rhythm,” but needs to “clean up our mistakes.” They tended to “shoot themselves in the foot” as they fell to Fort Bragg, 35-6.
Teams traveling to Fort Bragg tend to be down by a touchdown when they get off the bus and there was a scoreless first quarter. By the end of the half, however, Fort Bragg had scored three times to got into the locker room 22-0.
Tyler Mansell finally grabbed an 88 yard Steven Edwards pass for the lone Cardinal score.
Mansell also had a good defensive game with and interception and a fumble recovery. Kyle Schwartz had six tackles, Jake Chapin had five, as did last year”s All-League defender, Mike Ventresca.
Schweitzer”s Cardinals will have an intense week of work ahead of them as they take on their rival Kelseyville Knights next weekend for the annual Homecoming.
