LAKE COUNTY ? The name may have changed but the outcome is the same. For the fifth year in a row Lake County Palms, formally Superior Seamless/Hallmark, claimed the championship in the Lake County Adult Softball women”s division, going a perfect 19 and 0 for the season.

For the year, Lake County Palms outscored their opponents 285-60 and had 5 shut out games behind team pitcher Lori Wilson. Wilson also led the team in batting average with a strong 796 followed by Carol Dellinger at 705. Teammates Jessica Swaney, Julie Kelley, Tammy Alakszay and Cheyral Bryant all did their part by batting more than 600. In all 10 of 13 team players batted 500 or better leading to the undefeated season.

Coach Cambra was proud of the way the women stepped it up in playoffs to make up for being without two of the leading hitters. With Dellinger on vacation and Swaney away at college, the rest of the team filled in and played great in different positions.

All the women on Lake County Palms would like to thank the sponsor, their fans, assistants Mark, Justin and Rick and their coach, Gary Cambra, for making this another great year.
