LAKE COUNTY — A Suburban fled from a crash scene Friday after the driver allegedly pulled in front of a motorcycle on Highway 29, causing a collision that led to the motorcyclist”s death, California Highway Patrol stated.

REACH Air Ambulance flew the motorcycle rider to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries, Officer Dallas Richey of CHP said. Law enforcement had not released the man”s name by press time. About 10:17 a.m., a green Honda Gold Wing motorcycle was traveling south on Highway 29 approaching Seigler Canyon Road, Richey said.

According to witness accounts, a blue Suburban drove through the stop sign at Seigler Canyon Road and pulled directly into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle collided into the driver”s side of the Suburban. After the crash, the driver of the Suburban made an immediate U-turn and fled from the scene westbound on Seigler Canyon Road, Richey said witnesses reported.

Officers are investigating leads on the identity of the Suburban driver. ?
