CLEARLAKE ? A child suffered minor injuries Saturday when he allegedly darted in front of a vehicle and was struck by it. The two-year-old boy apparently got away from his mother.
According to Clearlake Police Lt. Craig Clausen at approximately 7:59 p.m. Saturday Kayla Kahaulelio, 21, of Clearlake was traveling southbound on Lakeshore Drive when the child “darted” out in front of her vehicle near the crosswalk at Austin Park. The child was struck by the vehicle. He was transported via private vehicle to St. Helena Hospital Clearlake for treatment of minor injuries.
Kahaulelio was determined to have an outstanding warrant issued out of Mendocino County for traffic violations and was arrested.
